Island
- An Island is a piece of land completely surrounded by water.
- Islands come in all shapes and sizes.
- Islands can be in oceans, lakes, and rivers.
- A small island is called and islet.
- Some islands are completely covered in ice, like Greenland, which is the largest island in the world.
- Islands can be formed from volcanoes, this is called a volcanic island.
Peninsulas
- A peninsula is a piece of land with water on three sided.
- It is almost completely surrounded by water but is attached to a larger piece of land.
- Every continent has peninsulas.
- They come in all shapes and sizes.
- One example is Michigan!
